Description
Customer has a Transaction Script that is password protected. However they either forgot the password or it was not documented.
Applies To
Transaction 10.x
Cause
Functioning as designed. Transaction has a feature where you can "lock" the script with a password or the developers choosing.
Solution
-Open the script from Central or Connect using Transaction. Once the script opens the “Selected Data File” will point to the published template. Open the template by selecting the highlighted icon.
-Once the Excel file is open right click on any one of the sheets names and select “Unhide”
-Select the hidden sheet named “_EmbeddedShuttleFiles” then select OK
-Select “_EmbeddedShuttleFiles” sheet and expand the detail row (generally at row 5) so you can see more text and look in the cell directly below the Embedded Script header. Here you will see a parameter called “+NE”, which I have highlighted, followed by the password (+NE is not part of the password). So for the below, the password is “Test123”. You should then be able to open up the Transaction script and unlock using that password.-Open script in Transaction and select the Metadata icon and enter the password
Please note this will only work for scripts that had published data templates. If the script and data are not published this will not work.
