I receive an error message stating my Query script is corrupted and I receive the below message.

Cause

The issue was unable to create key in %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA . Found issue could be due to some restriction on creating key

Solution

In an environment without Citrix

Remove the existing file that contains the crypto keys for the Query application.

The path of this file is “windows\users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\S-1-5-21-2785592115-2564437415-1442399886-11682".

The folder might contain many files. Open each file in Notepad and look for the text "AthenaKeyContainer".

When you find the file that contains the text “AthenaKeyContainer”, move it to a different location.

Start Query again and open any Query script.  This action will create the crypto key file again.

In an environment with Citrix

If using Citrix with a Mandatory Profile, the profile state may be set to an incompatible value. When using the Guest profile state this error was occurring. This issue can been resolved by changing the profile state to the "Delete the cached" profile state
