Solution/Immediate Workaround

Sharepoint version normally is provided  by customers Sharepoint team or if user have access to the Server then can check it via control panel.

 

Click "Control Panel" and click "Programs and Features." Click the "View installed updates" option under the Tasks list. Scroll down the page to the "Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0" entry and note the current version number.
