Description

When recording in GUI scripting mode, the SAP window opens, but some buttons and icons are not visible. 

Cause

This may be caused by an error in the SAP GUI installation. See How to check SAP GUI installation​ .

Solution/Immediate Workaround

1. Check EXCEL, TxShuttle and TxShuttlecom appear in SAP GUI Options, from Control Panel > SAP GUI Configuration > Visual Design > Applications. This Applications setting improves the User Interface in GUI Scripting mode.



2. If the Applications are missing, click on 'Add' and browse to where Winshuttle Transaction is installed in Program Files and add TxShuttle and TxShuttlecom.



3. Add Excel, browsing to where Microsoft Office is installed, if it is missing too.

4. If the icons or buttons are still not appearing then add as a workaround 'GuiScritptingServer' as well, from TRANSACTION > GuiScripting64Bit folder. For some users this was found to be necessary.
