Description
When attempting to post to SAP through Studio or the Excel add-in, you receive a warning stating:
"File cannot be submitted because the version of the template is not the same version on the server."
This warning prevents you from running the file or submitting the file for approval.
Applies to
11.X
Cause
In version 11, a new option was introduced that checks the version of the data template in the SharePoint data template library against the version of the script in the SharePoint script library when attempting to run or submit a data file. If the versions do not match, the warning is generated.
However, certain background Winshuttle actions will increase the data template version, which will cause the versions to be out of sync.
This is a known issue addressed in version 12.
Solution
The Control Versions of Data Templates option should be disabled.
To disable this check, you will need the Central Application Administrator role on the Foundation site.
-
Open the Foundation site
-
Click on Settings in the Menu
-
Click on Preferences
-
Click on the Foundation tab
-
Uncheck the Control Versions of Data Templates option
Additional Information
Checking the Control Versions of Data Templates option will restrict users from opening or submitting a data file created from an older version of the data template.
Note: When revising a data template while using the “Control version of Data Templates” feature, users must retain the same data template name .”
