When trying to connect to SAP through Winshuttle, the below GSS-API DLL error appears.

Cause

After receiving a new computer which was using Windows 10, customer also was upgraded to 64 bit Excel and 64 bit SSO for SAP. Winshuttle was trying to read the previous machines SSO logon file: gsskrb5.dll. This is for the 32 bit SSO config file.

Please note that this is just one instance in which this error can occur. Essentially if Studio tries to launch the SAP logon file, but does not find all of the necessary DLL files on the machine, the error occurs.

Solution

In order to resolve, customer needed to:

1.Download 64-bit file gsskrb5 i.e. gx64krb5.dll from SAP portal. (or 32-bit if your Windows/Excel/SAP is 32-bit) 
2. Copy gx64krb.dll file to C:\Windows\System32 folder
3. Open Studio/Transaction and goto Tools >> Options >> SAP Defaults
4. Set path in parameter "Single Sign On" to C:\Windows\System32\gx64krb5.dll.
