Description
Considerations when running multiple scripts from the same PC at the same time
Applies to
Studio 10x, 11x
Use case
Large data loads
Solution
There are a few things to consider before attempting to run multiple script sessions at the same time. You are not restricted by Winshuttle on how many scripts you are able to run at one time, on one environment. However there are issues that you may run into if you decide to run multiple scripts at the same time.
- You will be restricted by the number of SAP dialog sessions you are allowed. This is something is determined by your SAP team
- Excel commonly shares resources across open workbooks. This means that if you have several Excel sessions open the resources will be shared between the sessions. While a script is running the majority of resources may be provided to the script template (Excel workbook), and be unavailable for the remaining Excel sessions.
- GUI scripts require access to the SAP GUI session in the foreground. Because of this we do not recommend running multiple GUI scripts at the same time. This will likely result in error.
