Description
The Winshuttle Excel Add-in does not appear when you start Microsoft Excel.
Applies To
Transaction, Query, Journal Entry, Studio, Runner
10.X, 11.X, 12X
Causes
1. Possible issues during installation
2. The Add-in could have been disabled from within the Winshuttle software or Excel
3. Updates made to the PC
4. Bit version of Winshuttle application does not match Excel bit version. Both should either be 32 or 64-bit.
5. Multiple versions of Office/Excel are installed, and the Add-in is installed on the wrong version
Solution
1. Make sure that the add-in is enabled in the Winshuttle software.
Open up the Winshuttle application in Administrator Mode and go to Options > Data Settings. Make sure that the Enable Runner Excel Add-in box is checked.
2. Make sure that the Winshuttle Add-in is enabled in Excel.
Use the instructions below for the version of Excel that you are running.
Excel 2010 / Excel 2013 / Excel 2016
1. Start Excel.
2. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.
3. In the Manage drop-down list, click COM Add-Ins and click Go.
4. Select the Transaction and/or Query Add-in (for 10.X) or WinshuttleStudioAddin and WinshuttleStudioMacros (for 11.X) checkbox to enable the Add-in.
5. If you do not see the Transaction, Query, WinshuttleStudioAddin or WinshuttleStudioMacros Add-in: Click Add, and then browse to the following path: C:\Program Files\Winshuttle\*Application* (for 64-bit) or C:\Program Files (x86)\Winshuttle\*Application* (for 32-bit). Choose ADXLOADER.dll, where *Application* is Transaction, Query or Studio.
Note:
1. The 64-bit configuration of Excel is supported only if you have the 64-bit version of Winshuttle installed. You can download this from Desktop Downloads.
2. Excel 2013 is not supported until version 10.5.

1. Start Excel.
2. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.

If the Winshuttle Excel Add-in doesn't appear in the list of Excel add-ins
If the Add-in is enabled in the Winshuttle software but is not showing in Excel's list of add-ins, it is possible there was an error during the installation, which prevented the add-in from installing correctly. If this is the case, follow the instructions below.
Windows Vista/7
1. Uninstall the Winshuttle software.
2. Right-click the Setup.exe file for the Winshuttle software you are trying to re-install and select Run as Administrator. You can also try turning off User Account Control. This will require a reboot.
Windows XP
1. Uninstall the Winshuttle software.
2. Right-click the Setup.exe file for the Winshuttle software you are trying to re-install and select Run As Administrator, and then un-select Protect my Computer and Data from unauthorized Program Activity.
If you need a download link for the Setup.exe file please go to Desktop Downloads.
3. Try this step if the above steps did not resolve the add-in issue
1. Close Excel.
2. Open the Registry Editor (regedit.exe) and Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\xSHUTTLEAddIn.AddinModule
3. Right-click xSHUTTLEAddIn.AddinModule and Select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value
4. Enter the key name as LoadBehavior and set the value to 3.
5. Again Right click xSHUTTLEAddIn.AddinModule and Select New > String Value
6. Enter the key name as FriendlyName and set the value to QUERY (if Query add-in is not showing up) or TRANSACTION (if Transaction add-in is not showing up)
7. Again Right click xSHUTTLEAddIn.AddinModule and Select New > String Value
8. Enter the key name as Description and set the value to Winshuttle QUERY (if Query add-in is not showing up) or Winshuttle TRANSACTION (if Transaction add-in is not showing up)
9. Close the Registry Editor and open the excel.

Why is this happening exactly?
I have many of my runners and my self as a developer having this issue every time we open excel. This is a fix as long as a window of excel is open. But if all windows are close this needs to be done again. How can this be done as a permanent fix?
