Description

These SharePoint 2010 Cumulative Updates cause an error when opening SharePoint Library Settings.

The Following 6 SharePoint CU updates for SharePoint 2010 foundation and SharePoint 2010 Enterprise have been tested and determined to break functionality.

Impacted Update - Service Pack 2 (SP2)

Issue: An unexpected Error occurs when opening SharePoint Library Settings

Uninstall the Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll from the GAC(Assembly) and then copy Microsoft.SharePoint.ApplicationPages.dll from Web Application’s_app_bin folder (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\222\_app_bin) to GAC(Assembly).

Note: You cannot interact with the GAC like a normal folder. Functions like copy, paste, and the normal right-click context menus will not display. Instead a special context menu is provided.

To uninstall from the GAC on Windows Server 2008 and newer, first open the GAC via Windows Explorer and type in %windir%\assembly. Then, select the dll in question, right-click, and choose Uninstall .

To install a dll, drag and drop the dll into this same Windows Explorer window.

Impacted Update - October 2012 thru April 2013 Cumulative Update (CU)

Issue: Winshuttle Central 'Out of the Box' Workflows are not working.

1. Go to Library Settings of document library.
2. Select ‘shuttlefiledoc’ content type  >>  workflow settings >>  Uncheck ‘start workflow when item is created’.
